There were a couple of feel-good moments to savor earlier this week so far as the non-profit organization Alstrom Angels is concerned as it moved closer to bringing the long-held dream of bringing an innovative play park to life in Lubbock.
The Milestones Development and Play Park project would accommodate children with any type of disability, according to our recent story. Corporate citizen United Supermarkets, no stranger to supporting worthy causes, presented a $75,000 check to Alstrom Angels earlier this week with the funds earmarked for the park.
United’s generosity moves Alstrom Angels to almost 85% of its fundraising goal for the facility. Space for the indoor park, to be located at McAlister Park in southwest Lubbock, was officially dedicated about two years ago when it announced an ambitious $5.7 million goal.
